Beautiful Quadra Island is the largest of the Discovery Islands and is located at the north end of the Straits of Georgia between Vancouver Island and the B.C. mainland. Just a 12 minute ferry ride from Campbell River, the island has a population of about 3800 residents. Several shops and conveniences, a medical centre and dentist make the island self sufficient. Quadra has a wealth of natural attractions including Rebecca Spit Provincial Park, the Main Lakes Chain Provincial Park and numerous hiking trails. The island boasts numerous cultural and artistic events such as Quadra May Day, the annual Artist Studio Tour , a regular film series and special concert events.
